Natural Resources
The Natural Resources is responsible for the overall health, conservation, protection and management of Bonaparte lands and resources throughout Bonaparte traditional territory to ensure healthy, productive forests, water and lands and to safeguard Bonaparte Indian Band interests. The Director of this Department ensures that the rights and titles of Bonaparte First Nation and environmental operations including forests, fisheries, recreation and other land uses are safeguarded and used appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Band’s current Forest Licence volume holding
- Negotiate any offers from the Ministry of Forests
- Actively organize and manager the Band’s Woodlot Licence to bring it into compliance
- Secure funding for a fuels management crew
